Mike & Jess’s Wedding
This weekend it was off to Long Island for Jess and Mike’s Wedding. Friday night I flew into JFK and Larry and I trained it out to Glen Cove, where we quickly got ready for the rehearsal dinner, which was a BBQ poolside, followed by a massive dessert spread and lots of great speeches, and then followed by the after party at the bar upstairs. After getting schooled in foosball too many times, Larry and I called it a night.
Saturday we spent most of the day at the pool, and most of that watching the longest water-treading contest ever.

That night we were bused over to a very nice country club for the wedding and reception, with probably the most comprehensive cocktail hour buffet I’ll ever see (there was even a mac and cheese station!).

Wedding was lots of fun - maybe even too much fun, because I couldn’t even make it to the after party

More pics from the wedding are here.
U.S. Olympic Trials
This weekend I went to Philly with my Mom and sis for the gymnastics Olympic Trials. Its our third one so far (we also hit 1996 and 2000 in Boston). The meets were both great, but I have to say Philly wasn’t my favorite town ever - not a lot to do for three girls like us. We also met Brian and Jen for dinner Saturday night at El Vez in Center City which was great. Here are a few pics from the meet:

Jillian & JL’s Wedding
This weekend I was in NY for Jillian & JL’s wedding. Friday night we met Amanda, Mike, Ayelet, and Brad at Gottino for some wine (our first time back since the debacle in March). I think we may have been the biggest party they’ve ever had because they even offered us a couple rounds of free tastings. Fortunately this time tho, we left before the bar closed.
On Saturday Larry and I went downtown and I got my first glimpse of the “new place.” Gorgeous. We also got an amazing breakfast/coffee at Think Coffee and did some damage at Crate and Barrel and West Elm, despite it being possibly the hottest day ever.
That night after we got all dolled up…

…we headed downtown to the Ritz in Battery Park for Jillian and JLs wedding. Wedding was great, lots of great sushi, wine, friends, and…bow tying?

On Sunday we mostly hung out at home doing a couple online “errands,” briefly walked the street fair outside Larry’s apartment (until the heat was too much), and got some Margaritas before it was time for me to head to Laguardia and back home.

Miami!
This weekend Larry and I jetted to Miami for a couple days. Friday I was basically on my own as Larry sat in the airport for 8 hours caught a late flight, so I spent some time on the beach with all the Europeans, maneuvered our way into a better room at the Shore Club, and then sat by the pool for a bit taking in the scene.

That night I got some dinner and fell asleep during rented a movie and waiting for Larry to arrive.
Saturday we got an outstanding brunch at the Sagamore and then hit the beach and the pool. Later in the afternoon we attempted to walk Lincoln Ave, but ended up getting some Starbucks and then walking back to take a nap.
That night we met Mark for dinner and drinks. We had some pink drinks at the Shore Club, then tried the Setai next door and then went to Casa Tua for dinner. Unfortunately, we missed Jen Aniston and John Mayer at Casa Tua by one week (but our waiter gave us the scoop).

Sunday we got some more time in the sun and a walk down Ocean before calling it a weekend and heading home, nice and burnt
Viget Cake!
This month I decided to test out my old cake decorating skills and make Viget’s monthly birthday cake. Luckily, it all came back to me:
Hee-Haw!
This weekend was Viget’s latest event, which was at the Marriott Ranch out in Hume, VA. We spent the day skeet shooting (well, not me), horseback riding (not me again), and lawn game playing (yay shuffle board!), followed by our annual Anniversary Dinner (country style).

Lots of pics from the day collected here: http://flickr.com/photos/viget/tags/ranch/
That night Larry and I stayed at the Marriott Ranch for the night, which was a quaint bed and breakfast (the breakfast wash delicious!), and then spent Saturday Wine tasting with Meliss, Ian, and Page.

Our favorite was probably Linden Vineyards - we even got a bottle of Rose there for later.
Crepes & Lobster Trucks
This weekend Larry came to visit me in DC. He caught an early flight, so I had to rush from work through DC traffic to pick him up (only a little late). That night we got some beers and watched the Mets at Baileys, played some pool, and ended the night with some coldstone. Yum!
Saturday I wanted to show Larry Old Town Alexandria. As soon as we got there though, it started POURING. We were able to make it from the car to a teeny restaurant for bunch called Fontaine Caffe & Creperie, which served (obviously) crepes and looked like it was a bit of a wine bar too. We each got an entree crepe, and then this awesome chocolate , peanut butter, and nutella crepe for dessert!

After brunch it was still raining so I gave Larry the driving tour and then we drove back to DC. When we got closer to home it clearer up, so we went into Georgetown for a bit, to my new favorite area up north on Wisconsin Ave. While we were walking we saw this truck, which Larry couldn’t get enough of

We also got some yummy chocolate covered gummy bears, and I got a pair of new shoes. Then, it stared raining again so we called it a day. On the way home I took Larry to the Italian Store for a “snack” (and I found the one place in Virginia you can buy cavatelli. woohoo!). That night we attempted to go to dinner at a new restaurant called Asia Nine, but when we got there they told us they had to turn off the gas so all they were serving was sushi. We nixed that and instead went right to the bar we were planning on going to afterwards to have dinner, Urbana in the Hotel Palomar. Despite our flamboyant and often absent waiter, we had a great (italian) dinner, and then moved over to the lounge/wine bar for a bit (definitely a place I’d go back to). We ended the night back in Ballston at Front Page to meet up with J, Brit, Kristen, and Dave for a few drinks, and then called it a night.
NY & Jordan’s Christening
Friday night I flew into NY and we went immediately to meet a bunch of Larry’s friends for tapas at a restaurant called Alta in the West Village. There was an option on the menu called “The Whole Shebang,” which in essence was the entire menu. And that’s what we ordered.

It was awesome, but we all left utterly stuffed.
We didn’t have any plans for Saturday so we went down to the South Street Seaport and Ground Zero. Ground Zero was interesting, as I haven’t been there before, and since it was a nice (although a little chilly) day, it was nice to walk around the seaport.

Friday night we went to a place called Jane for dinner. Looked like an average kind of restaurant, but had really great food (including this amazing Arugula and Pear salad). After dinner we went downstairs for Larry’s friend Adam’s (surprise) Birthday party for a bit, then over to Pegu Club for a round of concoctions…

and then finally over to Rivington Hotel to meet up with Ben and Wendy.

We ended the night with some dinner food, so if your counting, that’s 4 places in one night.
Sunday Larry and I took the train to NJ for my nephew Jordan’s christening (where my brother and I also became godparents):

Following the service, Nike and Jamie through an afterparty at a nearby hotel, where we got some nice family shots:

I shipped Larry home around 5pm and then went back to spend the night at my parent’s house. I was supposed to fly out Monday evening, but that flight got canceled and then the next flight they put me on also got canceled (apparently Continental can’t fly in the rain), so I wasn’t able to fly out until Tuesday morning. Whew! A bit annoying, but also nice to have an unexpected break with my parents.
Lots more pics from the whole weekend here.
Bunny Cake!
I stayed in DC for Easter weekend, so I celebrated Easter with Meliss & Nicole drinking a lot of wine cooking dinner and making, of course…

The bunny cake!
Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays!
This weekend we celebrated my, Brittany, and Vinny’s birthdays! First up, dinner Friday night at the awesome Harry’s Tap Room for Brittany’s birthday, followed by some drinks at Whitlows.

Saturday night was my time. We did dinner at La Tasca, which has a great group menu full of lots of yummy stuff. After dinner we met up at Vinny’s, and then went to EyeBar in DC for our pa-tay.

From what I remember, it was a fun night! Here are some pics:
